Nice accommodations and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating to offer advice. They had lockers available at the door to store luggage after check out. Being Canadian we prefer cooler rooms. We found the room a little warm. The air conditioner was regulated in the room. Public transit was available out front of the hotel. We were able to access the city easily from the hotels location.
Beautiful hotel owned by a lovely couple. Very friendly staff Visar, Morena and Asia. Self checking in machine at the entrance. Coffee & Tea making facilities in all rooms. Worth a visit. Not far from the old Town. Located near a bus stop. Ample garage parking. Sumptuous breakfast.
Our group of 25 people (family and friends) stayed at this hotel in Early June. The same group has travelled together for a yearly biking trip for almost a decade and has visited numerous countries in Europe and stayed in multiple hotels.
For its service - this hotel has been the worst place our group has stayed at.
The hotel alleged that someone from our group tampered with the smoke alarm. The specific room in question was occupied by three people who stayed in the room for one night after travelling for 14+ hours and checked out the following morning.
For this the hotel has charged us Euro 500.
We followed up immediately after we got an intimation from the hotel about the smoke alarm. We notified them that the room in question was occupied by non-smokers (doctor and a scientist) and that if the smoke alarm was tampered with then it was prior to our group occupying it.
We have been extremely disappointed by the behavior of staff of *Hotel MAX70* in Salzburg. We tried our best to resolve this issue by talking directly with the hotel, but they were more accusatory than helpful.
As a follow up we did send a note to the Federal Ministry of Labour and Economy and were notified that "Although the course of action by the hotel is quite an unusual procedure in Austria, they are entitled to do so regarding their general terms and conditions. The only way to proceed further would therefore be to take legal action against the hotel. However, the burden of proof is on you to prove that the smoke detector was already damaged at your arrival. It is up to a judge to decide this, taking into account the facts at hand, and given the lack of counter-evidence (presence of the damage upon your arrival), the chances of success are very low. We are really sorry not to be able to give you better news.".
If you are out of choices and absolutely need to stay at this hotel then make sure that you take pictures of the room before and after you check out. You absolutely don't want to start a vacation with a Euro 500 fine.
This was a fantastic find. Other than the fact that it isn’t in downtown Salzburg - but the bus stops right outside - and allowing for the fact we didn’t try the breakfast, it has everything you’d want. Really good rooms, seemingly new, very very helpful and friendly staff - and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
I had a truly awful experience at this hotel. The staff's rudeness was only matched by the darkness of the rooms, making the stay incredibly gloomy. To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning, leaving me sweating through the night. Imagine my surprise when I received a 500 euro charge for a fire alarm precaution, which felt like a complete scam. Parking was a nightmare as there was no available space, and when I tried to address these issues with customer service, they were uncooperative and dismissive. Save yourself the headache and avoid this place at all costs
Excellent room for staying in Salzburg. Room was comfortable and has great features. Shower worked well and towels were provided which is always great.
Staff were lovely and very helpful, even gave us recommendations of what to do …
We just asked to see the rooms before check in and the manger refused ...in he words " u cant cancel or even change the room you are going to get , you have to accept our offer and we dont care what you think about it " we had awful welcome …
Although good location and rooms, beware of management of this hotel. We group of cyclists stayed overnight and after we left, we were incorrectly blamed and charged (fleeced) of substantial amount for having tampered with smoke alarm. It …
